Callen’s Corner: Callen Reminiscing He and Sam

CC_600x100

Callen reminisces…

Before there was Sam.
I miss those days.” Callen lies.

g3Their first mission together.
“I went in first!” Callen protests.

Sam being there when he thought he was dead.
“G!!!” Sam’s voice echoes around Callen. “Stay with me!!”

Sam being maternal.
“Sam, how many times do we have to go over this?” Callen warns. “You are my partner, not my mother.”

Sam letting him crash at his place.
Sam being there when he learned about Alina, Amy, and Clara.
Sam being forgiving even when he let him down with Moe.
Sam putting up with his attitude.

Sam saving his behind.
“You’re like the lone wolf until your butt’s on the line,” Sam scoffs, “and then you expect me to come to your rescue.”

t2Sam throwing him under the bus.
“No donut, no love.” Sam says, matter-of-fact.

Partners for five years and more.

“We’ve been together for longer than most married couples in this city.” Callen says with an amused look on his face.

Callen reminisces and always realizes:
He’s at his best with the Big Guy at his side.

Those guys! It’s so hard for them to admit they actually need each other, or even like each other for that matter. Callen has to make any potentially “deep” discussion into something funny or sarcastic. He does everything he can to dance around the issues when it pertains to emotions. (Part of his trust issue-thing, I think.) Even though his intention was to get under his partner’s skin, Callen said it best – “I complete you.”

And our ex-SEAL? He’s all team/partner oriented. But even HE holds back. It just wouldn’t be “manly.” He doesn’t want to admit that Callen’s unconventional tactics actually compliment his highly trained, military approach. (Sometimes I think he would like to duct tape his partner’s mouth and stuff him in the trunk of the Challenger.)

The meshing of their personalities, unique skill sets, and pasts experiences are the perfect ingredients for an unstoppable partnership. They really DO complete one another.

Thanks for the post! Reminiscing is fun!!!

  2. G. Callen Rocks!

Callen and Sam – the best partnership I’ve ever seen on tv. They complement each other so well and I love all the banter that goes on between these two!

As Kensi so rightly observed, “how long you two been married?” Lol.

Another great post – thanks so much, Keviana! Aww, Callen and Sam – such an amazing partnership! As much as I like the rest of the team and the cases they solve each week, it’s definitely this partnership which is my main reason for watching the show (besides Callen, obviously…)
@ justdreaming-83: „I complete you“ – that’s Season 1, The Only Easy Day, isn’t it? You’re right, even though it was meant to tease Sam it’s true (and kind of sweet) nevertheless.

Callen/Sam the dream team, the only other Male/Male relationship that was very good was Starskey and Hutch again differnt chracters but they blended perfectly again using humour and respects for each other.

For me LA would not work with out either Callen or Sam, it works very well, even when Callen goes “Lone Wolf” or says thing that push Sam’s paitence to the limit.

I hope in season 5 we see more of the season 1 styleof banter.
