Callen’s Corner: POLL: Is Callen A “Tat Guy” ??

Tattoos have been a topic between Callen and Sam as early as the fourth episode of the show:

ncis_la_search_destroy_1

(Entering a tattoo parlor)
CALLEN
What was your first like?
SAM
Talkin’ tats, right?
CALLEN:
Yeah, talkin’ tats.
SAM:
San Diego, 16, nervous as hell,
didn’t really know what to expect.
Afterwards I just kinda felt like a man, y’know?
I don’t know how else to explain it.
(Sam licks his lips and smiles)
CALLEN
We’re talking tats, right?
SAM
Yeah.

At the end of Season Two we learned that Hetty has a wheel shaped tattoo on her arm which granted her access to the Comescu family. (Or do we think it was fake?)

In last week’s NCISLA episode “Recovery” we not only learned that Kensi & Deeks have tattoos but also Eric (Einstein) and Nell (Rose).

Poor Callen learned the hard way that none of his team members thinks he is a “tat guy”…

What do YOU think ??

If you think Callen IS a tat guy…

I said NO! Callen said this twice before he was cut off: “I didn’t say I was actually …”
IMO He was playing with Sam to see what his reaction would be.

I also said NO. And yet, here I am blabbering away in the comment box. Besides the fact I just don’t see him with one, G needs to be able to slip in and out of aliases without any distinguishable markings. I think for the same reason he keeps his hair short and wears some scruff on his face. Helps him blend in. (Don’t know what he’s supposed to do about those EYES, though. NO WAY those are “blending in.”)

I thought Callen could be a tat guy, but I put other for the tattoo motif. (it is motif, by the way…motive is a reason for doing something. Motif is a repeated or symbolic theme.)

Anyway, I thought Callen would be the kind of guy who’d get a tat that would make no sense to anyone but him. Some kind of symbol that embodied all the mystery he is.

Either that, or when he does find out his past, he’d get some kind of commemorative quote tattoo to remind himself to never take his knowledge for granted. Not that he could ever forget that…

    I don’t see G as a tattoo guy, either (poor G, nobody seems to think he’s a tattoo guy…)

But if he had one I could imagine it to be something connected to his past, like the Romani Gypsi Wheel or maybe a Russian sentence like „My family“ which was written on the sheet of paper he found with the film that shows him with his dad.

Anyway – the „tatt talk“ was fun to watch!
    Great Sam and G banter!

I also voted no! And I agree with just dreaming -83, that it would be harder for him to become anyone if he had one, with his undercover work. But with G still trying to find his family and more about his past, it would be hard to find something to hold onto with regards to a Tattoo. BUT if he did ever get one, a Romani Gypsy wheel would be very fitting.
