Julie Chen’s about to move up from serving as a talk-show host to playing a U.S. ambassador – and it’s going to get a little dangerous!

The 45-year-old mainstay from The Talk will guest-star on the Jan. 19 episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. She’ll play Nancy Kelly, a U.S. ambassador who narrowly escapes a terrorist attack at the U.S. consulate in Tunisia.

On Monday, the drama’s stars Eric Christian Olsen (Marty Deeks) and Daniela Ruah (Kensi Blye) paid a visit to The Talk set to “surprise” Chen with the cameo.

“Oh my goodness! How many lines do I have?” she asked while leafing through the script.
